I hate the beginning of any class, on line or face to face. Since I have done a lot of on-line classes and participated in teaching one, I have a feeling of what I like and what I do not like in a class. Although the challenge of new software can be intimidating, it is why I take classes in instructional technology: to learn how to use the technology. But I have have seen in two classes that the technology was so integrated into the beginning of the course, that the lack of knowledge on the use of this technology set up an immediate roadblack to the class, in my opinion. Frustration and anger should not be the something that should be introduced into any class especialy in the onset. One thing I learned is that a sense of community presence is really important for the success of the class and the student. Already, I am wondering if I am going to be able to cut it as I am unsure of the tools required for successful submission of discussions. I love discussions, but now I am so worried about citing and is it teaching anything, that I am wondering if this will hinder my responses. I wonder if others feel this way?
